Rooomy Virtual Staging
Rooomy is a Dutch-based company offering virtual staging and online real estate marketing services. Their mission is to ‘help you better visualize your space through the power of 3D, augmented, virtual reality and mixed reality’. They offer virtual tools for real estate professionals looking to improve their marketing images and attract buyers to their high-end properties.
Working from their base in Amsterdam, Rooomy offers virtual staging and an interior design app that users can download and use to design the perfect room.
Virtual Staging Examples
In this review, I uploaded an example of a living room and asked roomy to do a virtual staging for me in a mid-century modern style. The sign-up was easy and quick and, although they noted that it would take 2-3 working days to get results, in fact, they delivered a treated image after 12 hours via a friendly email that contained a link to a shared google folder.
Here you can see the before and after images.
Ordering From Rooomy
Ordering from Rooomy turned out to be a simple and straightforward process. You don’t have to sign up at all to put in an order. The downside of that is that there are no options to do bulk uploading or process a large number of pictures all at once.
It has a very bespoke, once-off feel to it.
The emails that arrive are personable, signed by an individual and when I asked for a revision to address some of the perspective issues, they promised to try, then delivered a far better quality image the second time around a few hours later.
Here is the living room image before and after my revision request:
Furniture Library
Strangely enough, it appears that Rooomy doesn’t have a furniture library for virtual staging. They have a good selection of items for the interior design app, but not when you are working with the online virtual staging service.
They offer eight different styles for the staging, including farmhouse, scandinavian, traditional, and one labeled transitional too (not sure what that refers to though, college? elderly?).
The ‘Room Function’ category where you choose what kind of room you’re decorating, is quite comprehensive. There are around 30 different selections, including quite specific options like ‘teenage bedroom’, ‘balcony’, and ‘media room’.
But it is a bit odd that you can’t look at specific pieces of furniture beforehand.
Also, you don’t have the option of creating an account which is a bit confusing but doesn’t seem to impact the simple order flow.
When I sent a query asking about their virtual furniture library, I got sent a username to login to the support site but not the main site, followed by an email the next day that stated; ‘Thank you for reaching out. In order to be competitive, we generally do not open up our library to users. Which items, in particular, are you looking for?’

Virtual Staging Quality
Delivery of the finished product came via an email with final rendered files in a Google Drive folder.
A little unexpectedly for the price, the quality of the images was a little disappointing. The placement of the furniture was not ideal, half the room by the door was left empty and some additional accessories such as curtains, wall art, or some plants would have warmed it up a little more.
I also felt the furniture was too obviously digital for my taste. I didn’t get the sense that I was looking at a real-world space and I asked for a revision to fix the chair in the foreground, which felt distorted.
I like it when virtual staging companies offer you different image formats, such as JPEG, TIFF, or RAW for download as your final use might be different (print vs online marketing for instance). Rooomy doesn’t go there, sending only a JPEG through. It was a 9MB file though and perfectly fine but extra options would have been a nice touch.
When I asked for changes, they put it through and did a much better job as you can see in the second image, which I was really happy about.
Rooomy Conclusion
All in all, Rooomy provides a good product and turnaround was quicker than expected for a virtual staging service. The price is more than I would normally pay for virtual staging, and it seems that their focus is more on the app, but the design they offered after the revision was quite satisfactory.
